I'm back!

It was actually Yu-chan that inspired me to write this post, probably because he updated his blog too. XD Any'ay, how've you all been? I've been so busy, tired, jet-lagged *add more depressing words* that I almost forgot about this blog. Oh well! Time for some 'updation'.

Since my last post I've journeyed to the UK, gotten over my jet lag, and received one university acceptance. It was quite an invigorating experience really, apart from the incident where a random African man tried to pick me and my mum up for a 'drink or two' down at the local bar. Quite scary. o.o And he was already drunk and a bit too friendly for Mum's liking. "I like your daughter!" he said. Ha. What a douche. The weather in Glasgow is depressing. It made me want to curl up and hibernate for however long we were there for. On the other hand, the midlands were joyous and just the right temperature for me to handle. =D

School's been hectic. I've had to deal with more than three major projects due all on the same day, homework that is too long to actually complete for the next day and tests, which I had no chance to study for because of my constant involvement in...musical...activities. I know, I know, it's my last year and I really must be more serious, but I really do love Jazz Band. Even though that's pretty depressing now too. Some of our new members aren't very interested in the band at all and don't even show. But we did fine in the 3rd Sohar Jazz Festival. I was actually asked after by the name of 'the chick bassist'. Haha!

I've been wondering. Why is it that so many people on Facebook these days have profile pictures of them strumming guitars even if they don't really play? One of my friends said, "Maybe it's because they think it's sexy", but honestly I don't see the point. Poser alert? Now now, shouldn't judge, Astal.

On the J-Drama side, I've finished the entire run of Hana Yori Dango, HYD Season 1, 2 and the final which is a movie. I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, even though I suffered from procrastinating my TOK essay for 2 hours. ^_^ But that's the story of many IB students' life I suppose. In my own case, I feel like I just have to bum around regularly in order to have energy to work on long projects. Call it procrastination or whatever, but it seems to work. ;] My favourite anime site is basically shutting down ( they call it 'becoming legal' ). Apparently the anime industry is suffering quite a bit so the Japanese companies are completely against fansubs as of now. Ah well, I'll just find something better to do. Like...practice bass.

'Twas the last day of school. Winter break, here I come!

P.S. If you want to kill some time in a fun way, check out 'Bloody Monday'. It's a J-drama that's got me on the edge of my seat...

P.P.S. Note to self: Twilight is the new Harry Potter. Or is it?

Summer Anime Madness

I recently chanced upon an anime full-length movie by Studio BONES. Seeing the poster had me interested to know what it was all about though I admit it looked like the usual slaughterer-turned-gentleman tale. Evidently, I was not to be disappointed...

The main protagonists are a young boy by the name of Kotarou and his loyal shiba inu dog, Tobimaru. To cut a long story short, they're being chased by members of the Ming Dynasty and happen to run into the ex-swordsman, Nanashi or 'No-Name' when translated to English. What follows next is the classic plotline of how the boy and samurai build a deep friendship despite their differences but it's done in such a poignant style that BONES is forgiven the cliche in my opinion. I fell in love with the characters and the dog is adorable! I wish my dog was that nice. T_T The sword fights are animated extremely well and had me on the edge of my seat the whole while. If you're one who's worried about graphics, have no fear: Sword of the Stranger will deliver the goods. The ending was beautiful, and it's definitely a classic. I recommend this one. ^_^

I'm not into manga much, but I've picked up a rather interesting shoujo series by the name of Kaichou wa Maid-sama! Again, it might not be anything too drastically different from the usual shoujo style ( I seem to be picking up a lot of these stereotypical things of late ) but it still has a unique feel of its own. Synopsis can be found on Wikipedia for those of you who're interested in maid-outfits and extremely well-drawn male characters. ;]

And lastly, a parting shot of my new anime heart-throb, Nanashi:

Super Duper Random Raves!

Alright peeps, get ready for some extreme random conversation!

Ever just watched how your parents interact and gone, "Heh. That's cute! Wonder if I'll be like that when I grow up." I had a lot of that this week, but mostly because I think I was low on sleep.

And then there's possible after-school activities:
1) Kendo
2) Archery
3) Sniping?!

In case you're wondering where 'Sea of the Sky' comes from, don't ask.

I feel like Cherry Coke...

Yosh!

Battery recharged! I'm not gonna listen to any more whining from myself anymore! If you want something done, you've gotta do it yourself. I got an e-mail from my CAS Supervisor about my diary that needs updating ASAP. I loathe e-mails like that. The solution? Make all the deadlines, silly! It's as simple as that. I want to go to music college. Pa wants me to do business. Solution? Immerse yourself in music and make him see. Do your research and then present it. Smack him in the face with it! XD

I've noticed one thing. I'm incredibly lazy. But if something fires me up, I work real hard.

Random Rave: On the back of some newspaper I saw this ad. It was a picture of a horse's neck. Very artistically done. At the bottom of the picture, one word. "Momentum". I like it. =P

Work it off, Fox!

Whale & Videl

This image was taken from http://www.digik.net/avatars/

I've made up a story for these two. The girl's name is Whale and the guy's name is Videl. They are both part of an elite school which functions normally except for the regular sorties that the students undertake to save the world from giant man-eating...things. Yep! I haven't decided yet. But anyway, Whale and Videl are both part of the music section of their school. I really liked this picture. It screams cute. =P Go Videl! XD

Tainted, Tarnished...Tuna!

Ever looked forward to something so much and then when you finally take a bite of it...it tastes like uber-crap?

Yep. Airplane food. I was soooo hungry and you just HAD to give me an old Tuna sandwich. Old Tuna is my worst nightmare. It really doesn't taste very nice. T_T I'm going to write a complaint to the airline catering services!
